i grew up in the baltimore area - mostly in the suburbs, but later in the city. i traveled throughout the united states. i grew up slow, but got lots done in the meantime. i went to college, then moved to new orleans, since katrina i have been taking photos of some of the grassroots rebuilding efforts. i think the most exciting photographic images are made from synchrocity, faith, and forgetfullness. like all magic, photography requires randomness and the patterns we impose upon it, the trust that things will work out somehow, and the foolishness to become distracted enough to let them occur on their own. -matt newman-saul malkuth23@yahoo.com resume
